Palythoa seperation

Hi everyone,
I have a huge colony of palythoas for over a year now and while it's been growing it started to branch over to another rock that I need to move, how can I separate the rocks without harming the inhabitants of the tank, the coral, and myself? Thanks!

I had to do the same and tore off a couple of polyps in the process
