Palytoxin - Am I in trouble?

I made a DIY Majano Anemone Wand to zap some anemones. I had a bunch of them near some Palys. I touched a couple of Palys by accident and noticed it looked like they released a white film in the water. Do you think this is Palytoxin and should I be worried?

I'm no expert, but, I have seen the same thing when I scrub algae from rocks near zoas, and when crabs/snails climb all over them, with zero negative effects... I also always run chemi-pure blue....

I plan on doing a water change tomorrow. Should I be worried until then? I dont plan on drinking the water anytime soon...but you never know

I always run carbon because of zoa , paly and leathers. Its always a good idea to run carbon with zoa and paly

If your hands were or have been in the water, check to make sure you have no open cuts or anything, that is usually the only way it will affect you. If it is a large volume of water, I wouldn't worry too much.

I do run carbon all the time for this particular reason though, and I wear gloves with rubber bands around the wrists if I'm dealing with anything that can produce palytoxins.

No. I was using a PVC tube and my hands never went into the water. Total volume is around 170 gallons.

I ticked a few off recently and they did the same. No worries, just follow standard water change and fresh carbon might help. I didn’t add any and I’ve had my hands in the display a few times with no issues. I did use super glue on an open wound just to be sure. All is well

With that much water volume, I would say you have nothing to worry about!
