PALYTOXIN is in my tank ??!!

So I recently got Zoa Coral and I placed it in my tank with my bare hands. I didn’t get sick but my hand felt kinda numb . I saw the mucus in the water that the sos was spitting out. Do I have to clean my entire tank ? I’m order to clean out the palytoxin?

I’m very new to saltwater tanks so. What is a carbon ? Can you elaborate?

Assuming 'recently' isn't in the last 6-8 hours, then you just need to put some carbon in the filter or a reactor and that will take care of it in the tank.

If recently is in the last few hours and you have any other symptoms, then you need to forget about the tank and call 911.

bitter/metallic taste, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mild to acute lethargy, tingling, slow heart rate, kidney failure, impairment of sensation, muscle spasms, tremor myalgia, cyanosis, and respiratory distress.

Carbon is like activated charcoal. Its what's in filter cartridges for hang on the back filters. Put this stuff in a media bag and toss it into your filtration

You'd know by now like Hemmdog said.
Just run some carbon and it will take care of it. Then go to the store and buy gloves, you shouldn't really handle any coral bare handed.

i have a 306 fluval Canister Filter. Does the filter come with preinstalled carbon bag? I thought I saw something similar to that in the trays ?

It probably came with carbon. I would be looking to get rid of the canister at some point tho. If you dont clean them one to 2 times a week you could get a spike in nitrates. I personally dont really use any form of filtration other than live rock and a protein skimmer

Yes it does. I ran the 406 and currently run the fluval fx4. They work great. A really good cleaning once a month is what I do. I don't have any lps or sps.

Hi, I was wondering if there are nitrate issues in your tank with fx4? My tank is also a FLuval 75g, and I plan to have a fx4. Hope you can share some experience to me. Thanks

Nitrates in my tank 40-60. I never worry about them. My tank is a softy plus a nem. All are doing well
