Panda Butterflyfish / Chaetodon adlergastos
SCIENTIFIC NAME –Chaetodon adlergastos
COMMON NAME – Panda Butterflyfish
SIZE – 6.2" (16 cm)
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 75 US Gal. (284 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING– The Panda Butterflyfish consumes stony corals and benthic invertebrates. This species may need live food to induce afeeding response such as live brine shrimp, mysid shrimp, live clam, mussle with their shell cracked open, or live black worms. Once acclimated, offer finely chopped marine fare for carnivores or omnivores.
REEFCOMPATIBILITY – Not recommended.
CAPTIVE CARE –The Panda Butterflyfish can be kept in small groups if all specimens are introduced at the same time. This species prefers a peaceful community tank with several hiding places.
