PANICKING! Chip/hole in glass!!

Just noticed a hole or chip in the side of my 125g that I picked up a week ago. I'm kind of panicking. If it's anything like the one in my car, it will expand and blow! Would this happen? Is there a way to fill it like you do on a windshield?

how deep? if its just a scratch dont worry, but measure how deep it is.

It's not deep... But I can defiantly put a pen head in it. I'd say no more than 1mm deep. Maybe 2mm wide.

Wow that would make me uneasy. The tank is a week or so old with that much coralline? I would mark the perimiter of the crack/hole with a marker and moniter it to see if it grows larger for now. If it's not growing then I wouldn't worry too much.

I would also put "water on the floor" sensors and maybe plan a disaster control plan just in case... The other option is replacing the tank I believe but that may not be necissary. Maybe someone can chime in on a way to fix the chip.

doesnt look too low on the tank, actually looks rather high... you can drain and clean the spot where the chip/hole is and fill it with silicone in a syringe and then put another layer over top and smooth it out like filling a crack in a car windshield.... but for support where that hole is located it shouldnt be on a weak spot or a "stress spot" on the tank so you shouldnt have to worry...

My friend owns a glass shop and says their is an epoxy that can't be cracked with a hammer. I have a chip in the side of my 210 that I'm going to use it on. I ll try to get the name. I filled mine for 2 weeks with heaters and a return pump and had no issue but I'm going to glue it anyway. Hoe thick is your glass
