Panther grouper mouth stuck open

My panther has had its mouth open for 2 days anybody know what’s up with him I didn’t see anything in his mouth but I haven’t taken him out and fully examined him

A video under white light would help. I’d like to rule out rapid breathing as a cause.

What is the fish’s history? How long have you had it?

These fish are susceptible to lock jaw and often occurs when they ingest large portion of food or do their typical yawn. Unfortunately its up to the fish to reverse this which often Does reverse
