I am wondering if my pump is shot? I had my power go out for a minute and come back on while my return was still siphoning. It didnt restart returning water so I unplugged it. Now when I plug it in it doesnt push any water either way I hear it on but it doesnt do anything. Is there something I need to take apart and fix or is it now junk?

Take the volute cover off and take a look at the impeller. Maybe some debris got in there or it just needs to be cleaned.

Thanks I think I found the problem a zip tie and hard piece of plastic. I will hook it back tomorrow but it I think it should work.

Yes, I am going to have to start watching what garbage I throw in the tank.

you should put a screen on the bulkhead to prevent that.

Actually I just put one of these on this week. I am wondering if the hard plastic is from it.

That's exactly what I use on mine.
Maybe there was some plastic on the inside of it left from the mold???

Not sure but that was my first thought when I pulled it out.

Did you check the impellar and make sure there was no damage to the impellar....I too had some garbage get sucked up into mine. However it ended up marring up the impellar pretty bad and actually breaking the ceramic shaft. I would inspect it closely!!! If you did end up breaking the ceramic shaft let me know as I found a place that is quite cheap to replace it. My impellar all though marred pretty bad is still running fine and not vibrating at all. Let us know how it turns out!

My pump is working again. But its weird it seems as if I either lost some flow or the drain is working better. I am using a herbie style. Before my valve on the full siphon drain was all the way open and my return was throttled back some. Now return is open and I have to close the valve on my full siphon some. I did find a large astrea snail in my filter sock but I am still not sure whats going on.
