Hi Experts

I Imported some Red Sea fish over the weekend, mainly purple tangs and Sohal tangs. There were 2 DOA and about 24 fish looked very weak and very thin.

within 24 hours 4 fish died but some are doing very well, started to eat and swimming normally.

About 8 fish are still not looking so good. Not eating, swimming is disoriented. Is there anything i can do to help these fish? I don't see any parasitic issues

I think this is an impossible question to answer without answers to the questions posted in the sticky at the top of the fish-disease forum.

1. How long was the shipping.
2. How were they acclimated/salinity matched/etc.
3. Did any have signs of disease - or just 'dead' swimming weird.
4. What are the parameters in your tank compared to the parameters in the water shipped
5. What kind of fish, how old, etc.

24 fish seems like 'a lot'

Assure good water quality in their current holding tank and good aeration and temperature.
Offer low light to keep them calm and do daily ammonia test to assure water quality is acceptable. With long transport, they likely ingested water with ammonia and nitrate present

1. Shipment was more than 30 hours. Had 1 transit, at this point we changed the water and repacked

2. Yes temp, pH and salinity was matched
3. No signs of disease, Thin and swimming weird
4. We match the temporary holding tank parameters as same as the shipped water
4. Problem is with Purple Tangs. Sizes from small to XL. Sohal Tangs are all fine.

In total i got 160 fish, having problems 20 fish
