how many hours per day should i be running my 20k par 38 bulbs? what is to much/to little. im a bit new to leds, if it were MH i would say 5-6 but there a different light.

could someone please answer this question? im thinking of 8 hours of run time but im thinking it may be a bit much and i may have to go to 6.

Hello Calvin,

The amount of time will depend on what you have in your aquarium. Also, the type of lighting you used before may be a factor. Generally, 6-8 hours of light is recommended, but some people run as little as 4-5 and up to 10-12. I hope this helps.

Thanks, i was running my 12k t5's 5 hours and my Actinics 12 before im running the par 38's at 10 currently and i will be cutting them back to 8 here soon. everything looks great it just makes me a little nervous to leave them on that long

If you're switching to LED's for the first time, it helps to run them for 3-5 hours to start and possibly shade or dim the lights. This helps reduce the chances of shocking the coral. I hope this helps.

alot of people say this but how is it any different then bringing home a coral to put under led that was currently under t5 or MH or the other way around, im not saying its wrong but...
