just got an invoice from them, and they were willing to switch mine out for the sunlight calibrated version instead of the electronic one.

So two thumbs up for them!

I emailed the tech about the study and to ask to change my order to the sunlight cal. version. Here was his response...

'As far as the research goes, we’ve seen that comparison study before. One thing to keep in mind, the apogee meter used in the study was an older version. Since then significant upgrades have been made to the sensor that affects the measurements for the better.

If you are planning on using the sensor under electric lights, I would suggest you go with the electric calibration, rather than the sunlight.'

id stick with the sunlight one.

The other "might" be better now, but there hasnt been tests done to show HOW close it is. With sunlight one, we know that answer.

So im more than happy with what i got.

Mann i just e-mailed them to change it. They should just fregin make a universal one!
We should compare them somehow...after we get it.

well for what it's worth

I ordered the electronic version as recommended be happy to try to compare them I also love it if Apogee decided to wait and send us the new version now that would be cool but I know it's not gonna happen that way.

the new one came out the day the group buy ended.

honestly, even if both are way off, as long as they are consistent, who cares.

youll still know a starting point, and end point, and highs and lows in the tank.

Beyond that i dont really care.

and well said I held off on getting one then I figured with with my fixture having 14 t5 bulbs the unit would quickly pay for it's self. that alone makes it worth $150 bucks end of story!

just ordered the elec version with the approval of jessica
she said i would be the last one...
we'll see how it goes
