Question is based off having a zoa dominant tank for growouts. I understand that certain strains of zoas will react different but wondering what the general consensus is. Also understand lighting isn't the only factor, but..

Does higher par or lower par increase color and or growth rates and vise versa? I've also read that the mostly dominant blue/uv/Violet spectrum is best, is this true as well?

Thanks in advance

I can say I have mine under 120-140 par and they started to grow much slower but the color is great. I run mostly blue. I’m going to be pulling all of my Zoa’s on the new build :-(

I've had few people saying lower par to color up and higher par for growth. Just wanted to see what everyone's thought was. Or what people are running on their growout systems.

I have mine 15 inches from light and blast them with flow

Part of it for me is I run lower nutrients but feed a ton. They were much happier before I went down the sps path. I have some in the back left corner of my tank that do much better in lower light for me

Do you dose trace elements? Zoas do well when iodine in particular is in range

I use all for reef and dose ab+ and Phyto. Last ICP test everything came back great. I have never done a true mixed reef until the last 8 months, I almost feel like selling all my high end torches and octo spawns for an sps system only. I have a hard time keeping everything happy.
