According to Vivid Aquariums, their recommended PAR for high light corals (Acros, monti's,etc) is around 300+. I just bought my first Apogee PAR meter, and as I slowly crank my whites/blues up. This seems VERY high. Almost too high.
What everyone's input on highlighting and white/blue intensities?

Is that 300 par with t5 MH or led lights. I thought I read places leds actually are more intense to corals at the same par levels of other type of lighting.

That's a good question, next to each coral info is a " suggested PAR. Don't think it specifies what light. But I also read LED's are like lazers..

I have found my acros do well in 300-500 PAR from LEDs, generally speaking. That is running about 8hr/day at that intensity.

Montis seem more variable, some doing well with that level, others don't seem to like it very much and I have moved them to darker areas.
