What par reading do we shoot for when growing SPS. Form min. to max. Top of tank to the sand bed. how much is to much and how much is to little.

About 350 at the level most of the acros are at.
You kind of have to deal with what you get on the bottom.
But it’s hopefully 100 par.
It gets complicated, if you want a clam on the sand you want about 150-200 (maybe a bit more for a maxima ) and then deal with(accept ) what you get on the top.
I’ve seen acro tanks Esp old school that run in the 1000 1500 par range and are quite beautiful and thriving.
And ....some acros seem to favor the 150 -250 par range. As not all acros are appreantly equal.

So I have 295 in the center of my tank at the highest point of the live rock and 210 at the sand. With a t5 fixture should I lower it closer to the tank to raise the par.
Myself , I think I’d go with it for now. It sounds pretty good. You’ll have acros on the sand like I do.
You can change the amount or dose by increasing or decreaseing the photoperiod. This is called DLI daily Light integer. It’s kinda a cumulative effect.
