PAR testing for Orphek or3 LED

Has anyone PAR tested their orphek or3 LED bars? Wanting to know what kind of PAR diff areas of my tank get and don’t have a way to test.

part 2 is there a way to test PAR without purchasing a PAR testing device? Like renting it for a one time use, or something similar?

I believe it’s been done on here before, sorry no sticky on lunch….
For renting a par meter, you can buy one through brs and they have a return policy to get back some of your money,
Depending on location there might be a local reefing club that has access so posting your area might be helpful to see if there is one near by

Hi You can find here some par Map for the OR3 120 sky blue.

Yes it almost the same for all OR3 color versions .
the combination of OR3 reef day + or 3 blue plus is amazing
Check this , from zero to this in 1 year
Without water change , he used just the OR3 reef day and Or3 blue plus

James Gasta at Orphek is literally the coolest person in the world. He has single handedly caused me to be 100% loyal to the Orphek LED lighting systems. Great customer service and responsiveness, and even willing to help me trouble shoot. I don't even research any other type of light, because I don't care about anything other than those sweet sweet LED look.

Thank you for this information. I am definitely going to keep doing my WC's, LOL, but that's a legit looking tank.

Stoked for the next release, can't wait for the control capabilities on the or3 bars. Gonna ramp up and ramp down on those lights so hard.

Question for orphek, so I run the same setup, 2x day plus and 2x blue plus, 48” bars…first off happy customer here,
But if I was to change one thing about the day plus 48” the orange leds on the ends are a little unbalanced for my eyes as they don’t reach the center well and create orange spot of color on the ends, I recently covered the orange leds and love the color blend without them…
My question is can I replace the orange leds with a different color or can orphek do this for me as well, open to both options!
And ramping me too can’t wait for this on the or3 so stoked!!!

If you can figure out how to switch the LED's I will swap out your orange lights for whatever color you want. Running a blue and a violet.

I saw video on replacing a burnt out led on the orpheks and seems pretty easy, I just need to confirm which diodes brand and spec to get to make a clean switchover from the orange to a blue or even red, red has only on diode in the middle of the bar but I don’t know that a red would be super helpful?

I've got an order coming for the reef day + so I'll have blue,violet, and reef day. If you are able to remove them, have you thought about possibly just moving the orange LED's closer to the center of the bar?

My tank is SUPER flourescent, but I don't have any white spectrum provided by my LED's which is why I ordered the reef day +. If you want to switch out the orange for blue/violet, LMK we can figure something out.

I was thinking on using or3 for my tank it's 48x24x30. Just curious if with these bars I can keep sps dominated.

You can go with 2 blue plus and 2 reef day .

I’ve got 3 48” or3, blue plus and reef day in front, then 4 t5 lights, then one or3 in the back. only keep 1 SPS but everything is thriving. Love the bars, cheap way to use LED and light long tanks

Does anyone happen to have PAR measurements from an OR3 blue bar resting on the edge of the tank, or at least mounted very close to the surface of the water, within 3-5 inches? Would be interested to know what the PAR numbers might be from a single LED bar at various levels when sitting so close to the surface.
