I know these can be beneficial when used for gut loading fish food to help enhance fish colors; however, recently I’ve noticed some premixed coral foods that have both these powders in them. Is there any benefit to the reef tank by dosing this powders directly to the tank?

Copepods will eat spirulina but it can add tons of phosphate from my experience
yeah that was the only thing I could think of was for copepods to munch on. Still uncertain about the paracoccus powder though…

Yeah I have no clue about those except that corals might eat them if I ahd to make an educated guess.

Bumping this thread as I've started dosing spirulina maxima powder and am interested if anyone else has seen benefits?

Trying out a mix of spirulina, amino acids, and coral snow. At this stage I've had a copepod and other microfauna explosion (much to my madarins delight). Too early to know if it has any benefits for the corals.
