Well it’s nasty and rainy so time for a parameter check day! Do y’all go all out to do checks?

Best to do checks on some kind of regular schedule. I do mine every Monday morning (I'm retired). It doesn't hurt if you keep a running list of your results by date. I use a very simple Excel spreadsheet.

I don’t really “chase numbers” but I check them every couple months

Unless your system is extremely simple or extremely well set up and mature, you should probably be checking parameters a bit more often than that... like every 2 weeks even on a very stable system.

typically I check my Alk every other day but everything else maybe once a week. As has been pointed out it’s very important to test at the same time of day, especially for Alk

There are a bunch of nice apps these days to note the test results.
I use 'Aquarium note' from the app store.
It shows the diffrance between meshurements and it also shows all meshurements taken in a graph.

As my tank is new (5months) I test CA mg No3 Po4 and salinity every week and kh 3x a week or more.

Dunno if this link works but this gives an idea of the app.

I’m the type of it’s not broke don’t fix it. I personally feel no need to check every couple weeks because when I did check my numbers never really changed. I dose kalkwasser and that seems to keep everything perfect
