First off I am THE lazy reefer:I do water change 2 or 3 times a year ,run a calcium reactor auto top off to the sump etc.I add iodine occasionally and magnesium /mag flake.I got curious about parameters so I did a coule of tests(first time in years )except for salinity ph and temp.240gal full reef Acans,Hammer about 18"diameter etc .Reef has been running for about 6 years
calcium 650
alk 10
mag 0
ph is always 8.3-8.4
no tank problems, fish are good corals are doing good etc. This is with 2 seperate kits, red sea and tropic marin(my fav.)
So how can I be so far off and how do I balance it.I am sure the first choice is water change, but what other input do you folks have????
