So I've been battling what you would probably call new tank syndrome, and I want some suggestions based on my parameters. They have me at a stand still, and I want to know if I should be doing something different or more or less...my tank is 2 months old.

pH: 7.8
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 80ppm
Nitrite: 2 ppm
Salinity: 1.026

I have a firefish, a turbo snail, hermit crab, and emerald crab.

I have been doing weekly water changes for about a month now, and nothing has changed. Any suggestions?

Also here is a current picture of my tank.

Added a 240 gph powerhead yesterday.

Not sure if this is relevant but I did have a branch in there that was taken from a live rock tank at the LFS, it apparently had vertmeid snails (sp?) so I got the emerald for that reason, but then I decided to take the branch out, and add some more dry rock about a week ago.

By adding more dry rock you have started a mini cycle again , you could buy a bottle of bacteria to help it along .. but patience is everything .. each tank is different and the length of cycle also ..it can take months for a tank to go through all the stages, but your tank isn't looking too bad at all !!! :D

Thanks, I started off using half when I first began so maybe I'll use the other half.

You can add it in small amounts once a week , there should be instructions on the bottle as too how much too add on the first day , day 7,day 14 etc !!
