I recently had some issues with alk swings due to hand dosing. I now have the alk steady at 8.3 for about two weeks now. I was wondering if anyone has had STN due to this and had corals completely rebound. Im prepared to lose some corals but wanted to get some feedback.

SPS can rebound from stn, but it's real hit and miss. In my early years of SPS keeping I spent much time chasing magic numbers causing big parameter swings. I at times had colonies stn. Some I lost some I did not. The best thing I ever did for my corals was stop chasing numbers and provide them with stable conditions. If you now have stable parameters you've already done the best thing you can to save them. Stick to a routine that keeps them stable and you'll have happy sps.

I have a few SPS that started to burn at the tips and a couple started to STN. I'm not out of the woods yet, but a few weeks after correcting the problem, things seem to be rebounding. I haven't lost a coral yet. There's only one that had significant recession, all others appear to be recovering, and showing good extension and are coloring back up. I guess it depends on the severity of the insult.
