so I got busy with work and found out the liquid in dosing containers ran out ( at this time alk was 11), so I did a 30 gallon water change ( my total system volume is 80) yesterday and when I checked the alk it was 9.5, I left it with out dosing thinking that the alk would drop but today when I checked the alk is 12.5. Can someone please advice how I can get my alk down. I would like to set my parameters as before alk 8~9 and Cal 430 ~ 450. I’m using Hana and yes the reagent is not expired.

I use tropic marine pro salt btw.

It's strange that one day went down the next day without dosing it went up I have a feeling that's a test error. Even if it's not I would leave it alone Let It Drop naturally over the next few days.

Sounds good, I will keep monitoring it and let you all know. Also I'm thinking of starting kalk dripping so I guess I would stop it till the parameters becomes stable. correct ? @Randy Holmes-Farley

Thanks again

yes kalk will also increase pH and alkalinity so i would wait till your numbers fall off to a hair lower than acceptable range then start kalk.

Right, I'd stop (wait to start) until alk gets close to where you want it. :)
