Hey just wondering if I'm missing something. I still have ZOA's that don't want to open up.

I would be concerned about the ammonia and phos. Most corals demand steady water parameters without any swings. What lighting are you keeping them under? Could not see the right side of your post.

Yeah +1 on phosphate being high, also the calcium/alkalinity balance is way off.

I'm trying to find a phose-zorb filter. How do I get the calcium and alkalinity straighted out.

Ammonia has been zero since the corals have been in for about two weeks.
Light is a reef radiance DM 155e set about 20% whites and 30% blue

Dang I love that chart Pete, very cool.

I have lots of charts saved on my phone for quick reference. I have been trying to find one with all the big 3 because I can't ever remember them all.

How long should it take. I've only dose calcium for about 2 weeks now. What can I do about alkalinity?

Dose Calcium. I like to leave my dKh around 10.

You need to do your parameters more frequently until you get whats going on. Do it once every two days and write it down. You need to see what is swinging and what is not. I would suggest dosing calcium weekly.

I've been using b ionic (just calcium) doing the Daily dose, but just upped it to a dose and a half daily.

Have you done anything about the phosphate? It's about 4 times what people generally try to keep the maximum.

Did a test this morning. Calcium is coming up, 400 now. Phosphate is dropping, not at zero but less than .25
I have a product that came with a bunch of saltwater stuff. Kent marine aquarium pH buffer. Should I use that to help lower alkalinity? My pH has been at 8.2

Ide try a chemiclean treatment for those zoas, it also helps balance phosphates and nitrates. check out my blog so you see what chemiclean did for me . i had a similiar issue. my zoas just did not want to fully open or thrive no matter what i tried.

Phosphate are at zero now, calcium is up to 440. Do I typically keep dosing the same daily amount in order to maintain it. I will still be testing it.
Also, need another alkalinty test kit, whats a good recomendation?
Oh and zoas still arent opening, I will check out chemiclean.

Thanks!
