Have any of guys ever tried this? If so, what was the results?

I know the Fritz guy argued with me for an hour about it being a "cure" for just about everything. He was really adamant about it, but he wasn't able to prove it cured anything. He hadn't tested the results of their "experiments" at all. They just used it on a tank and claimed it was cured when the fish didn't die from ick of all things. I still say the fish gained a resistance to the parasite like most hardy fish will when exposed to ick over time. I've never used it though. I'm sure @Humblefish has some thoughts on this product to share.![]()
Ha, im asking because theres a guy in the vendor forum who said "he had scientific" evidence that it works and was going to do a video on it. I believe even a Fritz/Mardell rep chimed in the thread. This guy is swearing by it, but when I asked why he hasn't shared the "evidence" he has not responded.
I talked to a Fritz rep at the store. He didn't convince me. The product has natural oils in it. He couldn't accurately explain how it works. It doesn't kill the parasite apparently, it only "shields" the fish from the parasite. That's not very promising to me. He was supposed to send me some free samples to run my own experiments with, but he never did, which I took as a sign that he didn't really believe in his product enough to test it with somebody who knows something about it.
Keep in mind, this was just one guy and probably is a different guy from the ones posting on here. They may very well know how it works and believe it. I figure it's the same as any other "reef safe" product and will aid the fish in dealing with the parasite without eradicating it.
All they have to do is convert a black freshwater molly to saltwater and drop it into the tank that has been "cured" with parashield. That molly will show anything that wasn't killed in there quick enough. If it doesn't come down with anything, then bam! Really good, solid evidence that it works.
No prior resistance built up to marine parasites if it was converted to salt prior to the experiment. Why a Molly?
Eventually you will forget about it or get tired of constantly paying for the stuff, and the parasite you have been suppressing for month/years will come back with a vengeance during a power loss or ATO malfunction. What are you going to do? Keep dosing this stuff in your tank forever?![]()
