So my fish isnt saltwater but a sick fish is still a sick fish and im conpletely stumped as to what is going on with my female betta fish. She has the milky eye thing and a white blob poking out of her anus but its not stringy like any worms ive seen and shes still eating like normal and swimming around as usual, shes been like this over a week. Ive been putting off treating her because shes not showing signs of being sick but im sure once she starts to act sick it will be too far along. Literly even guesses are being accepted at this point, im completely clueless and have been googling for days.

Shes atleast 1y, maybe 2 now. For the first year i was feeding her a mix of a basic tropical flake and frozen blood worms occasionally, past 3 months ive been feeding her a mix of dried bloodworms and betta flake. I keep the tank around 82°-84°

It just looks like an older adult betta, they just don’t live all that long, I’m wondering if the eye issue is an age related cataract?

Thats kinda what i was thinking too, that the eye thing and the white thing on the butt might not be related but i still dont know what the white thing is, i tried to get pictures of it, she was starting to bloat yesturday so i decided i would put feeding off for a day or 2 and see if anything goes away or changes

I would not be too too worried about the eye, it could be she damaged the cornea on some rocks and gravel, fish have an ability we don't in regards to healing minor eye injury and it may clear up in a couple months. make sure there is adequate heat and nutrition and it should be fine unless you got something else wrong impairing the animal from healing.

I would not expect cataracts in a fish of 2-4 years age, but if it is it will look like the cloudiness is inside the pupil

So after 2 weeks of googling possible parasites, i finally came to find out, shes jusy ready for breeding! I was only looking for worst case scenario answers lol but shes good, and as far as her eyes go, i do believe the water quality was affecting her cayse her eyes are clearing up. I want to say it was from running my tank at a very high heat, around 86-88 possibly. Ive dropped it to 80 at this point cause i also have ADFs in there.
