So I purchased this CB and he has what I thought was a parasite. I figured I could cure it but now I’m perplexed. Two fresh water dips haven’t touched it. Just started general cure this evening. It almost looks like a bone. Or a tail Of a parasite? I also am running copper at half dose and about to start ramping up to therapeutic.
What’s your ideas? It’s bizarre. Should I pick him up and pull on it? 510D732B-C826-48F3-81EA-A2E1717319FD.jpeg 74E7F335-9117-4227-BE11-564DAFE74BA5.png F9C6996A-91E0-4F8A-B776-67C85E086BE4.jpeg F17F2318-C000-4AE5-AFB0-35984E96FD87.jpeg

All angels have a preopercular spine there.

It's very possible that it was caught in a net and damaged or something. I can't tell how damaged it is, or if it needs antibiotics.

Good luck

Like the others have said, it looks like the base of the gill spine got "torqued" in a net. It seems infected. Is the fish eating? You may want to treat with a broad spectrum gram negative antibiotic, do you have any on hand? Which to use will mostly be a guess, but some are better than others.

What other fish are in with it? I know people use half dose copper on Centropyge angels, but be ready to go up to full dose if you see an active ich infection.
