Parasite on cleaner shrimp?

I was at my lfs today and picked out a skunk cleaner shrimp for my tank. I would have gotten a better look at him but there was a big event going on there and it was packed and super hectic and I was just trying to get out of the way. Now that I’m at home aand am acclimating it I see that there is a bump on its side. I don’t know what it is but I thought I’d ask because I don’t want to put it in my tank if it’s bad.

Looks healthy enough, but that is disturbing. I'm sure someone will have an idea what to do. I'm kind of curious about it too. Does it seem active?

Yeah it seems to be fine it’s walking around a bit but it’s still in the acclimation bowl and I’m sure it’s pretty stressed

Yeah would probably be the best move but the lfs is about 40 min away so I’ll leave that as a last resort.

I think what I’m going to do is put it in the tank and keep a close eye on it, and if it starts to look ugly I’ll pull it out and haul it back to the lfs. I can’t just keep in the bowl lol. Thanks for the help!

I would probably do the same. Whatever it is is under the carapace (is that right?), and may just be a Quasimodo type of thing.

Yes it’s on the exoskeleton. Very well could be what you said.
