Hi, the foureye butterfly had something weird attached to its eyes, is it fluke or something else?
The Atlantic blue tang, which died yesterday, because of a weird bacteria infection, also had something similar on its eyes.

If it's a parasite my usual go to is a freshwater dip with RODI!

Make sure the water is the same temp, that's first. Also, I match PH of the water, 2nd. Third, to help me match PH I put a squirt of tank water into the dip water. A small amount is fine as it will help with PH. Lastly, aerate the water for a few mins with a pump and air stone BEFORE you add the fish and DURING!!!

Let us know.

I forgot. How long? 2 mins should do it. The fish usually freak out for a few seconds and then they relax. I have NEVER EVER INJURED a fish doing a freshwater dip!

Yeah i know i can get rid of flukes by fw dip, but this one got a weird irregular shape, so im wondering if it's actually fluke

You have to start somewhere...

If the FW dip does not work we move to plan B. That is figure out if this is bacterial. If so, I use the TRIFECTA method found here on R2R. If it's a parasite and FW does not work we need to move into copper. That's another subject. Just know that if you don't want to kill the fish it takes about 5 or 6 days to reach therapeutic levels.

Let try dip 1st.

Looks like it may be flukes.
Butterfly is a little more delicate. Go 3-4 minutes in tap water the same temp as display tank. If it becomes distressed, pull it sooner and return to display tank
After return, look on bottom of container for what looks like sesame seeds or fish scales. If any- Flukes.
If none- check ammonia-ph-nitrate and water temp

What test kits are you using ?

did the FW dip, but didn't see any flukes coming down.
I tried to gently rub his eyes and the whiteish stuff disappeared, however, he's not moving one of his pectoral fin, what could be the cause?

If it was Neobenedenia flukes, you would have seen a number of gray/white things in the bottom of the dip container that looked like scales. If you didn't see those, then you are likely seeing some mucus on the fish - and this shows up more on the clear eyes of the fish than on the rest of the body. It could also be a bacterial overgrowth - possibly related to the issue with the blue tang.

Thanks for the information, then I think the situation should be bacterial overgrowth.
Is there anything I can do to the tank and the fish to eliminate the bad bacteria?
I currently have a UV and some reef rally pro. Will be getting Kannaplex one Monday.
