Hello, I bought this clown fish a week ago yesterday. Everything has seemed fine until today I noticed the white string from the anus. I had also purchased a second clown from a different location a few days ago. The clown was fine the first couple days until last night it began breathing heavily and this morning was dead.
I checked the peramiters everything seems to be on par.
The one clown with the string is from ORA.

White stringy poo can be an indicator of internal parasites (worms).

According to the lfs they cannot sell prazi pro in Canada any longer but offer natural remedies. Which I doubt will work.

Can you get a vet to write you a prescription for it or for metro?
Metronidazole

Calling a few vets now. Apparently everyone is out of everything. They also expect a consultation first.

Beautiful clown.

You've got a good picture to show the vet at least.

Best of luck. :)

I’m going to look for it on amazon USA. Vets won’t dispense without actually seeing the fish.

This is the one you want on Amazon. Treat the water with Metro and also feed the Metro + food+ Focus.
I'd get this as fast as you can. With the death of the other clown, I'm thinking flagellates are the problem rather than the usual worms. Flagellates can kill rather swiftly.

I’m confident the other fish died of stress related causes. The tank is only a month and a bit old.

Is it possible for the clown to pass the parasites? I can’t get any of the products in Canada.

What do you mean by pass? Are asking if they can overcome or beat the parasite on their own?

I mean it really just depends on the parasite. Fish can build up a tolerance to certain parasites and known to overcome... at least until they become stressed, the parasite can take a foot hold again.

It's hard to tell exactly what your clown is dealing with though...
