Hi. Just got a new Rock of yellow Parazoanthus and they are slowly turning grey from the top and dying. Parameters are fine. Only parameter I am not testing currently is Phosphates. Any ideas?

Have you dipped the rock to check for parasites? Like nudis, or zoa spiders ect.

I'd do a dip on it did you dip and inspect before putting in the tank? Those normally are almost a weed they spread so fast n hardly. What lights are they under now and before you got them. Actual parameters would also help others better help you. Flow ect information all helps.

What are your parameters? Along with phosphates. It could also be as simple as it is still aclamatimg to your system. Give a couple of days.

I'm guessing they don't like ur lights and need to adjust properly to your lights

LED lights. Moderate to high flow. Parameters:
Magnesium 1300
Alkalinity 7.3 dkH
Calcium 450
Amonia and Nitrite 0
Nitrate 1ppm
Salinity 1.025
Other Zoas are happy
Thanks for input guys

lucky you. Those things are a weed and will take over your tank. Those are the only zoas that will sting other zoas. But other than that they looked like had too much light or flow

Ok moved them to the bottom of the tank against a rock and there is low flow. Lets see. Thanks again for the input.

Nope. unfortunately those aren't the ONLY zoas that will sting other zoas. There are many other species of zoas, like some notorious Palythoas that will sting. Those little guys are also on their own rock, so not a big deal.

I would leave them alone. Look like they were hurt by a dip or a predator. Let them rest and they'll probably get better...
Think about changing your lights. LEDs aren't the best option. I would recommend T5s or Metal halides.
Small tanks call for a T5 fixture...
Make sure you aren't running GFO, carbon, or doing too many water changes...
And try to keep params stable.

You're welcome! Nothing much to do now...
Hope that one will come back...
Like I've said, try to avoid water changes and remove any GFO.
You could leave old GAC, if you have it in the system for now.
Don't try move the rock around too much.
Leave it alone... Avoid put your hands in the water...
Check for predators at night too...

Dod you find out why they turned grey? Been searching threads and no one has answered the question or provided a solution. Asking because o got 3 coral yesterday. Dipped all of them and only one has a pale ring in the center. It was a nice red when I brought it home. My assumption os the dip and tank may have caused it but looking for suggestions.
