My LFS got 3 parrotfish in sold as “rainbow” parrotfish. I know they can be hard to ID and unfortunately one of my photos messed up but if the big guns want to give it a go here they are:

1. Almost a foot long

2. Very dark green and red with a yellow patch on the tail. About 5”

3. Same tail as 2 but much lighter and the same size.

I’m fairly confident the first is Sparisoma viride
I agree with you on number 1. Number 2 is tougher without a full picture, but it MAY be an immature S.viride. As for number 3, its unique tail pattern and body structure do not match up with any of my pictures of Caribbean parrots. The closest Pacific that matches the tail and body is Scarus chameleon.

Thanks
I’m actually thinking the second is Scarus chameleon and the third maybe Scarus flavipectoralis.

1 - Stoplight Parrotfish (Sparisoma viride)
2 - Swarthy Parrotfish (Scarus niger)
3 - Yellowfin Parrotfish (Scarus flavipectoralis)
I think you got it. My LFS thanks you
