So my water appears fairly clear, but there appears to heal sorts of debris floating in the tank, almost bubble like. I don't have any mechanical filtration so should I maybe set up some of some sort? Just not sure how to get rid of it and clear up my tank.

Is it micro bubbles? If not, running a filter sock will certainly help.

I do have a problem where if my water level gets to low it bubbles very badly. But as long as I keep water level good it doesn't bubble so I don't think so. I will try to get a filter sock set up and also I have a dif. Question. I also have a surface film that I can't get rid of, tried to filter that out with no success.

It's a 75 gallon with a pro leaf aquatic 150 sump, modified to refugium. It has a fair amount of soft corals and a couple LPS. For fish I have a yellow tang 3-4in, lea prod wrasse, scooter blennie, lawnmower blennie. I have more hermits than I can count. A single emerald crab. A couple brittle stars and a sand sifting starfish. Ammonia and nitrite 0, nitrate 10ppm, all fish and critters look extremely happy

Sorry, what does rc stand for, new to the forum. Also what's calcium precip. Will it hurt my fish?

That film on the water is excess dissolved organic compounds known as DOC's
Do you run a skimmer??

Yes, but I have trouble getting it to run real effective, I can only change the amount of air entering it, not water flow so it is not the most productive skimmer. It is built in to my sump. Google pro clear aquatic 150 model and that will be my filtration.

Ok, so I have an extra hob hanging around would running that on the main tank help, could use it for mechanical for now too

Yes that will make it difficult!

Yeah, not to mention the original pump broke down, shocked me and everything in the tank(surprising only critter affected was my first anemone, forgot to mention him). So now the pump I have doesn't fit perfect in there is part of the reason as to why it won't run right also.
