Hello! I have an issue with a lot of particles floating around and causing a cloudy look to my aquarium. My sandbed is a combo of fine sand and larger pieces. I did a water change today of 10% as this is a 30 gal system. I cleaned my filter floss. Any recommendations for filter media for finer particles. There is a newly added fish diamond goby but I’ve watched him and it doesn’t seem to cloud around him. Soooo I’m confused.

How old is your tank?

Depending on flow in the tank, very fine sand can be problematic causing sand storms and fine particulate in the water.

It’s about two months old. My water parameters check out fine. Just this cloudiness

A good filter sock will take care of it or you have some type of bacteria bloom. A UV device will take care of it in short order or simply wait.

Unless of course you have a high flow tank and sand/debris is constantly floating around.

I’ll adjust my flow and buy new filter floss plus new carbon. Thanks for the advice

You sure it’s not bubbles?
