Partner for Male Picasso Clown

Need some advice. I had a bonded pair of clownfish 1 Picasso 1 Snowflake (female) for 2 years. 4 months ago the very aggressive female got into a fight with my marble wrasse and he tour her belly she died a few days later.

So my male has been by himself for 4 months. Now I would like to add a partner for the male Picasso.

I am wondering if I should shoot for larger clownfish to become the female or smaller and have the male Picasso transition to become the female.

Is either choice better than the other?

I think the safest bet would be getting a smaller clownfish. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the responses guys. I did just that.

One more follow up question. Currently I have fish going through a QT cycle. Included is a Wyoming white clown that is half the size of my Picasso that is in the display tank. Also I have a black ice in QT that is half the size of the Wyoming white.

Something just popped in my head. What is the likelihood of the Wyoming white turning female in the short 30-40 days he is in QT (with the presence of a smaller clown).

The reason I am concerned about this is I think to pair with my Picasso is going to be the Wyoming white. The black ice is going in another tank. It will be trouble if my Picasso turned female and then I put in the female Wyoming white.
