Hi guys

upgrading my water production from 2 to 4 blue barrels, so now my uniseal locations aren’t great. Instead of just using capped pvc in the uniseals to block the holes, I’d rather patch for a cleaner look
Any ideas on how to patch 4 1.5” diameter holes in the blue 55 gallon drums?

flex seal tape? Epoxy on some thin PP patches made from cutting up an old tote?

thanks!

Here is what I'd try first.....plastic plugs placed on the inside of the barrels so the water pressure will hold them in. I'd also include a bead of silicone specifically made for plastic.

Plugs found HERE

And this is the silicone, found at HD where they sell acrylic sheet goods (not in the paint department with the other caulks)

Now if that doesn't work, the next thing would be rubber stoppers with stainless steel washer/bolt to compress the rubber into the hole. I use these in stock tanks to "fill" the holes.

lol, I’d never seen the flextape hype video until now. That’s crazy

think I’ll use it to patch my barrels, and use those for the rodi, so that the saltwater doesn’t react. And use the brand new barrels for SW

Hold on a minute....I'll get a picture.

good options.

I know the threaded plugs you are talking about. We use them on boats to plug holes. I would be worried about the metal washer and bolt though. If I used the old barrels purely for RODI, even being stainless is he a little worried
