Hard to see much, can you take a photo with the blues off? Clearer photo?

Do you quarantine your fish?

He’s constantly moving it’s so hard to take a pic.. he’s purple and he just has spots of a different lighter shade of purple

Are the spots always present? How long have they been there? Getting worse?

I cant tell anything from that photo, try for a better one

They are present I believe all the time.. for a week or 2 and no not getting worse.. it literally looks like discolored scales.. I looked it up and some people say cause he’s. Not getting enough protein.. and he was quarantined in cupramine for 2 weeks

Improper nutrition can cause issues with coloration and stress. Stress also causes coloration changes so it could be that. A better picture would be good.

Tangs need protein, but as herbivores they are usually lacking plant material in their diet. I would feed as much nori as he will eat. Different colors and enhanced with something like selcon.

Flukes also come to mind, as they can leave little discolored spots.

Could be any number of things, including a stress reaction. It could certainly be nutrition, though could also be some kind of fungus infection. Best approach is as already suggested - feed a balanced diet that includes both nori and meaty foods.

Maybe a reaction from the meds, i dont feed my tangs any nori but they get seaweed extreme pellets maybe twice a week but everyday they get frozen cubes of hikari, mysis, spiraluna brine, ocean plankton, and mega marine. So they are mostly on a meaty diet aside from the pellets and any algae they pluck of the rocks and all 4 of my tangs are as healthy as can be. Probably just temporary from the meds but your pics dont show what your seeing.

Try some LRS. The herbivore blend is my favorite.
