Paul's 120g Dream Display Build

Luckily there's alot of good people around and I'm borrowing a spare 30gal setup for the time being to hold the fish, and I've got a couple others who I've trusted with my corals. Financially this is a nightmare but I always figure out a way to make it work. Anyone have an Idea what could cause a shatter like this? I went under the house and it still looks structurally sound. Definitely giving marineland a call even though the warranty is voided by drilling the back pane I'm not sure why the front would just blow out like that.

That's scary, I went with them because I felt Marineland was better than most companies for the price, apparently I was sadly mistaken.

Oh wow that's terrible.

Might sound dumb but was the tank and stand level? If it wasn't that could have put extra pressure on one panel versus the others and caused the failure.

New tank just arrived, its another 120g marineland, starting to drill today.

My Marineland 220g split on the brace.

I drilled it as well and they said at first it was fine and they would warrenty it then 3 days later they told me they wont warrenty the tank because it was drilled. Had my LFS get on the case and they got them to warrenty it and give me a new tank. This time I made them give me a Reef ready tank so that they wouldnt pull the "warrenty" BS again. Because I have been reading some bad things =/

Unfortunately they didn't warranty it, but I did get a nice discount. But I was thinking about getting a RR too because of those issues... But I have already purchased a custom overflow box and would have to redo all my plumbing if I went with a RR.

Yeah I am going to have to redo my plumbing, thats the down fall...but its worth it to me in order to keep the warrenty because honestly I dont trust them anymore. Sorry to hear they didnt warrenty it.

After everything that is happened I'm glad to say the new tank will be in place this week! Everything is drilled, the tank is painted and only waiting to level the stand, I went under and supported the house just for extra protection against another failure. Lets hope this time works out better.

I went under and supported the struts with two floor jacks and a sistered up pair of 2x8s, hopefully this is enough!

New tank is up and running, unfortunately lost quite a few acro colonies in the duration...

Everything is running and finally picked up the rest of my coral from where it was staying during the duration of this. Most everything is looking poopy at best, brown and unappealing but is alive!

Unfortunately during the tank failure I lost some acro's that I didn't have backups of

Unfortunately the Blue dreams and Blue ringer were acro's that I had never seen anywhere else before and only sold a handfull of frags to people, so If I sold some to you, you're now the only ones with it!!

Put in 5 Green Chromis hand netted from Fiji, came in pretty large but they look amazing!

I know I've been a little less active on here recently, but I figured why not do a little update on how the tank looks! Some stuff is really starting to turn out great and my system is looking better than ever. Had a small cyano bloom a couple weeks back but that's long gone and everything is growing faster than I've ever been able to manage previously.

Ignore the frags on the bottom, moved them to the display to have the tank clean the algae off, I have an urchin and rainfordi goby in the frag tank but they can't seem to keep up with the algae farm down below.

did you level the tank?that's the only reason I can think off when it crack like that. Most of the time the leak is at the corner of the seam with bad silicon.
