Paul's 40 Gallon Reef

Looks really great Paul. I never saw bitter apple at a lfs unless it's a pet store but stuff does work well normally. Our kitten loves sitting on ledge at front of tank on the stand watching everything.

Will have to look into that, thanks.

Tank last night with just the six 1 watt LEDS on after the main lights go off. My late night and early morning mod.

Got a few more shots today. Me and my wife also both won Aqueon Powerheads at my buddies LFS in a raffle. I put those in (which are higher flow than my hydors) to give them a shot which also gives me time to clean these nasty hydors. They are really moving some water but not sure how they will hold up to getting cut on and off a lot with the hydor smart wave controller. Well, I'm putting them to the test anyways. Not real loud (yet!) but they are alittle large. I also got rid of my small RBTA because it was just gonna get huge and sting all the coral around to eventually. Only reason I really got it was for the clowns that are now also gone and never once tried to host it. They rather kill my Trachy coral. I have also moved my red wellso into the shade a little better to see if it with regain the color it once had, I think I may have bleached it some. Pulled my favorite acan out a little as well infront of the others. Seems to like the spot so far! Accidentally broke another little piece of that scripps acro off putting int new powerheads so fragged it to the center rock on the sand bed to see how it does there as an experiment. So far all is looking really good except tinkering with the powerhead placement to keep sand from moving around, I think I about got it. (I will probably be switching back to my hydor koralias sometime soon anyways.) Here are some photos I got to show a little of what has happened.

Looks like good oxygen exchange with this larger powerheads

Hoeven's Wrasse seems to be enjoying the higher flow in the tank (This is the most active fish I've ever owned!)

Here are the 2 powerheads we won in the raffle that I'm trying out. I do use one of the 'pro' heaters by Aqueon for my tank that works very well, not sure about these guys longevity, large size, and no magnets, just the suction cup deal which held very well initially... we will see.

Switched back to my hydors after cleaning them. They aqueons where too much in my tank, sand dunes everywhere. Kinda on the loud side too. I guess they will be used for salt water mixers or something. Everything in the tank is looking good.

Picked up an orange spotted blenny the other day. He is really a cool character, a little camera shy though. Here is a photo of him and an updated FTS.

Here is a little video I put together of the new blenny as well.

Thanks! Here are a few more I got before the lights went out. Actinic lights on only.

I'm working on uploading a little video as well that I gathered during this time as well. Should have it up soon.

Nice photography and video skills! I would really like to get some video after I get some fish in my tank!

Absolutely beautiful tank! I want one of those critters in my tank, he's awesome!
