Hey guys, A while back I posted a thread on whether or not to put my male Mandarin into my fuge In order to save his life. He had been thinning and I did not think he was getting what he needed in my tank. Even though the female was doing fantastic. I decided after seeing him eat a few times to leave him in my display. Tried feeding him live black worms but that was a no go. I would like to report that he is still alive and fattening up. My pair absolutely love the slow feeder of baby brine shrimp. Every morning they wait for me to put it in so that they can spend the next two hours sitting on top of it. I'm so happy my mandarins are alive and well. Thank you Paul b

That SIX line might be part of the issue as to why the Mandarin didn't eat before. Competition was high with pods as he is another active eater.

Can you post the items you used to build this as I want to get one for my Wrasse.

It's easy. I used one of those plastic containers electrical tapes comes in. Cut a large hole in the top and put a piece of panty hose under the lid to close off the hole. A piece of rigid tubing and a funnel at the top and your all done! Easy peasy. Not sure exactly what the OP used to make his, as his is prettier than mine

This setup could be used on more than just Mandarins, Sea horses, dragonets. It could also cover the demand of the Wrasse's out there which have very small stomachs and are very active. Wrasse like pods and brine shrimp as well as long as they are baby and not the adults shrimp.

You might also be able to do this with cope pods.

I was. I had to remove all my fish when they got ich and wasn't set up to QT the mandarin seperately so I took her back to the LFS. I'll get another and start up again. I would hatch the BBS every few days or so. It seemed to last about that long even with the bangaii cardinal and coris wrasse eatting off of it as well. Though, I probably hatched too many at a time now that I think about it.

@Wiz What did you make yours out of? I'm curious how you made it look so good. I'm going to make one for the Show tank at the store and would like it to look pretty.

Home depot. PVC floor drain about 4 inches across. Wife dresser about a 4 inch round piece of her nylons lol and some aquarium sealer to hold the netting on top of the drain. Done $5.50

Well that looks pretty good! I may give that a shot. Though I already have one made for home. Eh, what's a couple bucks to make a show tank look nice? Thanks for the pics!
