I've never seen it myself, but a number of years ago (6-7) I read mixed things about it. Some used it without apparent problems, while some others tested it in acid and since it didn't fizz, concluded it wasn't actually calcium carbonate.
I don't know if either of those comments would still apply to the current material, however.
