I have a frag that has been in my system for about a month, and it is not doing well. Seems to be bleaching out. It has been on the bottom, in PAR <50 and moderate flow. Since it has been bleaching, I am assuming that even this much light is bad for it, so I took to R2R searching for the experience of others.

Browsing various threads, there are differing opinions on this coral, and I'm trying to figure out which placement guidelines are best to follow. Most all agree on flow - moderate. But there is a range of lighting recommendations, everything from 250par to <50.

For those of you growing this, where do you have it?

Mine started to bleach with 250 PAR high flow....put it down to 80 PAR zone and in 2 months is again in the upper level with high flow and tons of PAR... the tank it came from had lots of flow and growing like crazy in 180-220 PAR

Thanks for the reply. Mine seems to be in the sort of spot you lowered yours to. 40-50 PAR, moderate flow. But it has been paling, losing color. Alk 8, NO3 5, PO4 0.03, Ca 440, Mg 1420.

Maybe i need higher nutrients?
