I've been out of the hobby for about 3 years and am just getting back in. I purchased a Red Sea Peninsula 650 and am exploring some of the newer concepts out there. Now I'm reading good things about the Cheato Reactors, am I better doing a DYI or purchasing a name brand?

I keep revisiting the Pax or The Skimz!

Whose running these out there and please leave me some feedback to aid with the decision, akimbo process.

Thank You
Rob

I have the Skimz MBR 127 DON'T waste your money. I'm going to eventually get the Pax Bellum. Way better reactor if you have the cash.

Thank You for the heads up, I don’t have the cash but would rather save up and spend it on a quality product..

I’ve watched a few videos on both, the pax you can run out of sump which I like due to a lack of space.

I've have my skimz running for almost a month now and the controller burned out on it, BRS has sent my a new one. Also the pump has a humming noise

It a shame that they can’t make a product that holds up. I have never owned a Skimz product but their skimmers are supposed to be pretty good and the do have good customer service from what I’ve read.
