Yesterday (Sunday) I decided to clean all my plumbing. I had brown stuff in my sump and throughout my pipes. So I decided to clean the sump and all plumbing. To get better flow; and just because. I also cleaned out several pumps. The return pump and plumbing tested fine. The Reef Octopus Varios-4 pump I use for the UV sterilizer wouldn't start. Both the 15 and 30 second feeding pause lights were blinking. I realized what I did wrong and thought I turned the pump off. It was late and I was tired; decided I'd address it the next day, after work. I come home after work, to find out that my UV sterilizer pump came on and the ball valve had a leak. Just enough to make one heck of a mess on the carpet. Why was it leaking you ask? Because one side of the Cepex ball valve was missing the gasket!
