LOL......... I love that tittle already
, sometimes a tittle will tell you half of the story but not in this case.
Alrighty........ PAYING ATTENTION........... in what way?........... many ways!!
You go to the LFS and buy a coral or fish but what really do you watch for when you do that?
Are you one of the hobbyist in the small category that you just heard of it and need to have it no matter what in order to fit in with the cool kids.......... or are you really paying attention to the coral and do a quick research on your smart phone to see if the coral is playing nice with your others already in your amazing tank.
I say amazing as everyone has a amazing tank........ more about that in a other thread
Besides research to see if the coral is a good fit do you check the coral out for pest or healthiness and overall look, color and PE, and if you so how do you do that?
Sometimes starring at it won't give you much as many frags are small.
Ask if you can move the frag around with a pointing stick, yes always ask as many LFS don't want you to fool around with that.
Ok now you decide to buy that QUEEN OF THE ZOA or KING OF THE STICKS frag and the LFS owner or employee is going to bag it up.
He fills up a bag and takes your frag out the water and dumps it either just like that or with caution in the bag................. WRONG!!
OH HUH........ why is that wrong........... well simple, corals slime up as we know some more that others.
You don't want that slime in a small bag for a few hours.
A good owner or employee will bag corals under water no matter what coral it is and create less stress.
Next time just ask for that before they bag it and you will help your LFS crew to become a better store with just a small adjustment.
Now fish is a different story as in most cases you can't see fish are sick.
The stressing from us continues to always shoot for a QT treatment even though you know the fish is ok, just to observe for a week or two can't harm anything, and less horror stories......... believe me!!
Let us know how you approach your new addition in your new tank especially with the good deals you have going on now by just.....!*!*!*!*! PAYING ATTENTION!*!*!*!
