My little PBT has been in my observation tank for a week and a half. Yesterday he has some weird spike things on his face. Today he has some more of them. He eats just fine and is active. Here are some pictures (excuse my not scraped glass, he freaks and hides when I scrape it so I didnt in order to get the pictures so its a little foggy in the pictures). These are like raised spikes almost.

Was this fish in a battle with another? The pics are somewhat dark and show flash reflection but I do see under its chin (fish have chins?) what looks like skin tags associated with injury either from objects or squabbling

No fighting, he is the only fish in the tank. I was wondering if a bristleworm got him? I do have rock and sand in there, I keep the tank cycled and ready for new fish

That is a possibility. Cant clearly see pics/in pics

Unexplained hemorrhages on or around organ and muscle tissue leads me to possible hemorrhagic septicemia. If I'm not mistaken they're caused by ruptured vessel's due to the virus.

Sorry, the pics are just not clear enough to say what’s going on here.

It could be skin tags from an injury, or it could be mucus plugs that tangs sometimes develop as a response to some stressor.

You say you are just observing it? IMO that is a mistake. PBT all too frequently develop ich, they really need to be treated with Coppersafe for 30 days to reduce that issue.

Gotcha! Ill order some just to be safe. I do also put paragaurd in while observing fish. My LFS does do a full QT period as well so thats why I was observing him

Skip the Paraguard, I know it says for freshwater and marine tanks, but it really is for freshwater protozoan diseases. It is an aldehyde and a type of malachite green and the latter just doesn’t work in seawater…
