I have a 6 bulb coralife pcbulb fixture with 2 seperate channels that i would really like to use, but from what i gather, they are not good to use. I would like to try them out if i could get some great bulbs since i can setup a ramp up schedule using the 2 seperate outlets, but if its just too much of a downgrade from a 4 bulb t5 fixture, i will just pass on it.

Any thoughts?

Pc bulb availability is dying.

There are 2 base types as well and one is hard to find.

Watt efficiency is much lower than t5's.

Bulb color choices in PC is very limited.

4 bulb PC will be a downgrade from 4 bulb T5. I had a nice reef lit by PC until about 12 years ago. I usually ran 2 actinic and 2 10K, straight pin. Do it if you like, if you can find bulbs.
