I dont understand why but I'm on my third and final PC Rainbow. Out of all the acros and milli's I have, smooth skin, deep water, designer it's the PC Rainbow that will die on me if I look at it wrong and is he slowest grower. This one has been in my tank for 3 months now and haven't even encrusted the frag plus more than 3-5mm. I had a slight increase in po4 from .12-.2 within 2 days (forgot to turn cheato and GFO reactors on after maintenance) and the coral bleached a bit on base while every other coral in the tank was fine.

Any tips for this pita coral?

Sorry, no tips specifically but it is funny how this happens with different tanks and different corals. My PC Rainbow is one of the hardier corals in my tank and has made it through some pretty rough events. My particular problem coral has always been SC Orange Passion. I'm on frag number 5 or 6 now trying to keep one. I bet others all have "that one darn coral" that just doesn't seem to want to grow in their experience.

I've joked that my persistence in getting a SCOP to take brings to mind the quote "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

I've tried the PC from 2 different vendors also. My SCOP was knocked off a few times by snails, left in the sand for a day or two before I noticed, and it hasn't missed a beat.

That's weird because majority of times PC-R's are one of the easier sps to grow.

Kinda reminds me with my luck with Twizzler and Yellow Hornet Zoa's. No matter where I get them from, they ALWAYS melt within a month or two.
