Ok, here it is, the question that we all NEED to hear the answer to.

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR OPINIONS...ONLY FACTS. Any comments that are pure opinion are going to be disregarded unless it is a valid point to the question.
Any facts that are irrelevant will also be disregarded. I am looking for someone with PC and t5s who has access to a par meter. Anything less technical will not do. "It looks Brighter," IS NOT AN ANSWER to MY QUESTION,

WHICH IS!!!!!

is a 4x65w PC fixture BRIGHTER THAN a 4x54w t5HO Fixture GIVEN SIMILAR REFLECTIVE MEANS.

265w PC -VS- 216W T5HO

If you are out there with the means to test this here are the variables I am curious about seeing the par reading.

PC vs T5 w/o reflector
PC vs T5 W/ reflectors

Very Simple test that I have not found the results for.

(I am not looking to upgrade or find cheaper lights, well ok, we all want cheaper lights, but I am just curious which lights are actually brighter. I do not need LEDS in the equation as they are not fair to other lights. lol)

Thank you so much, if anyone helps I will give them a free compliment, as I am currently broke this month...why I have no PAR meter

Uhhh cassette tape vs iPod
T5 with good bulbs and reflectors will outgrow a MH system anyday

Ok, this is close. From what I gather it is the REFLECTOR ALONE that makes t5 brighter bc it has individual reflectors per tube rather than per pair like PC bulbs?
The reason I ask...The t5 fixture I have went out and I am using a PC fixture in its place. The t5 is single reflector for 4xt5s just like the reflector in my PC fixture. "It looks the same intensity."

As for MH, Not one ounce of me can agree with that unless you mean PER WATT. I have a 400w6500k halide and HOLY GROWTH HORMONE BATMAN...with a drab brown color of course. (its my grow out light, Then I enhance with t5s after they get fragged).

Honestly, and this is only a opinion because I never used my par meter when I did this, but I never really noticed much of a difference in "intensity" (via my eyes, of course) with PC and T5's. I went with T5's ultimately because of the color options you have with them. PC's always seemed to yellow, too blue, or too purple.

Whatever works for you is all that should matter. IMO, one's corals should do all the talking for them.

Yes, my t5s were 18000k, 10000k and 2 blue actinics with a 40w purple bulb as well.
Now I only have the 2 10000k and 2x 420/460 PC bulbs...the corals seem to be doing a little better, but not really much. I agree..They are TOO something. The sand looks robins egg green...really odd. They do morph my corals to a little brighter color though, I have noticed. I will eventually add 2 t5s to the pc mix. probably a 6500 and another purple. little more growth and a lot more color.
