PD & NG Location

I have a frag of each the Purple Deaths and the Nuclear Greens... I need to know the best location for placing them... I have 2x175 MHs over a 46 gallon bowfront.. I know the spotlight says medium lighting but what is considered medium... PCs or bottom of the tank on MH, or middle of tank for Halides...

I have mine on sandbed with 250MH but shaded under a rock

I have my NG at the top 1/3 of the tank on the right side under 4 overdriven t-5's

depends on where they are coming from? lighting wise

i have them at the top of the tanka and the bottom

well i dont know where they came from, I ahve the nucs at the top and the deaths at the bottom... They are both open and look good color wise

Both my PD's and NUCS stayed small and scrunched up even though they were spreading. I put them in shaded / indirect light and they got bigger and formed colonies.

Mine look best about halfway up my 75gal under a 6-54w TEK T5 fixture.

I'm running:

2 UVL super actinics
2 UVL aquablue
1 UVL aquasun
1 GE 6500k

I love the colors i get with this combo.

Awesome, man. Thats pretty much what I'm ordering. My tank is only 12.5" wide, so I can only have 4 at a time, but I'm going to order about 6 and test some out. I'll be getting 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI ProColor, 1 GE 6500K, 1 UVL SuperActinic (I'm thinking I may order two...), and one UVL AquaSun. I'm just going to try them all out and see what combo I like best. Should be ordering right at or right after Christmas...

I took a few pics of my PDs last night. It still doesn't represent how purple they are, the pics show them having a deep purple, but its really a bright vibrant purple. The last pic is in RAW format, i'll try to do some editing to get it to the correct color this weekend.

They were brown like this when i got them. Then i had a problem with low pH, that lead to cyano which then lead to cyano AND dinos. Now i just have cyano again and am battling that. Once the cyano became a problem, they colored up really nicely. Odd isn't it?

My purple deaths are on the bottom and are a beautiful purple, My nucs are at the top of the tank with a slight shade and are looking better a new bud has appeared since moving them and is starting to turn a bright green... I think the problem I had was that the Nuclear Green frag I recieved was a baby polyp and just needed time to grow...

Another question I have is are the purple deaths suppossed to be the same size as the nuclear greens or are they a smaller polyp...

Thanks Impur I will give them some more time to grow and see if they become the same size... I currently have my purple deaths in the middle of the tank with medium flow... I just moved them there and am hoping they do better

Depends on the flow some peoples PD stay small and some are big like the size of a dime to a nickel

Mine are in a medium flow area, they get enough flow to move them a bit but not enough to close the polyp... Is this too much flow or is it ok, I want the bigger polyps
