PD & Nuc Green polyp size follow up.

Hello folks. A while back I posted on how my Nuc Green and Purple Deaths polyps were small and staying that way. The polyps were staying small and spread out even though they were reproducing. I recently changed the bulb that was providing light to that side of the tank from a Phoenix 14K to an Ushio 20K. After about 3 weeks both PD and NG colonies are starting to get larger polyps and are filling in next to each other instead of staying spread out. They look a lot better now. I do not have a PAR meter so I can not be sure if the change is due to less intense light or maybe they prefer the bluer color spectrum. Just wanted to share as I know that others have posted about these polyp size issues.

wow Darren.. it would be awesome to see a comparison shot of these.. what I mean is before and after shot under the old and new lighting...

I have noticed also the polyp size on my Nukes has been getting progressively bigger since i took out one of my T5 bulbs. I guess they like a lower intensity?

I would agree with this.. my Nukes has always been on the sandbed and have been fairly big.. it takes about 2 months from baby to full adult...

I also have to say that my colony started shooting off babies when i actually feed them mysis too......

My Pd polyps look pretty big but they look kind of brown instead of purple, must be the light intensity.
