My SPS does not show any PE during the day. They do at night when the lights are out. What does this mean. Is the lights to bright or is it something else.

Totally normal, and can vary. All that matters is health and if they are adding mass, basal material etc

Try a tiny teaser bit of cyclopeeze or rods food in the water mid day, that can make them come out
mine used to do what you describe, it can vary. Mass building at some rate is what matters.

To me it shows at least they can respond even if choose not to daily. Sometimes you just see barely any emergence, but feeders poke out I bet after 15 mins teaser smell. We use this to bring out sun corals for feeding as well

Sometimes you can also have a fish that likes to pick at polyps, so they are retracted during the day. My LFS's acro tank has fantastic growth, but their acros do not have a ton of poylp extension due to some of the fish in their tank. One of my hairiest acros in my tank has hardly any poylp extension in their system.

SPS Corals do come from different places and different depths.
Night is when the plankton come up in the ocean.
Maybe research the species a bit more as to where it comes from.
It's a good low energy feeding tactic if you think about it. Photo synth all day and plankton snacks all night. My tri c Valeda does it. Did research and there's several places it comes from thousands of miles apart.
It's nerd stuff but that's why I'm here is suppose.
