One colony of my TGPE appears to be loosing the blue circle - both colonies are in the same tank, the one loosing the blue was about 3" higher on a frag rack for awhile. Anybody know if this is common? The result of too much light or something else? TIA

That funny I was gonna post a similar question about my TRPE, loosing the purple dot around the mouth.

Yup, mine is the same... Bought it as Spartan pride, loose the blue ring... Somehow mine not as green like the second pic.. It's more like monster lip paly..

Well hopefully we'll both find the answer to our question Rob, my TRPE is still holding its purplish Blue ring as well, and it was also up on the same frag rack as the TGPE that is losing its ring.

Boboreef Spartan's Pride is actually not a PE, which means if yours is a PE it probably was Monster Lip or Jolly Green Giant PE (same or very similar polyp IMO) to begin with.

Put in mid high only... My TGPE is 4" from the waters suface as is lighter in color.

I also have issues with my zoa's washing out under my T5's When they start washing out I put them in the lower corners of the tank till they turn back around.

From my experiences with TGPE is that the higher light seems to turn them lighter. Try high indirect light like on the side of your tank or rack or lower in the tank. I always find them in shaded areas not in direct light.

I also noticed that my colony developed a whitish ring around the rim. I see a little occurring in your picture.

Colin is right, i have had the same experiences.

Very cool Thanks guys - I'll move them over into a little more shaded area with good flow! Colin I had noticed the ring as well.
